Colorado

June 2019, my first solo trip into the wilderness - a dip into whether or not I would enjoy solo traveling in nature. I was a bit nervous to camp alone for the first time and so I decided staying in a small lodge in nature would be a good in-between. I stayed at Swiftcurrent Lodge in Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, and it was the perfect experience. From this trip, I learned just how much I did love solo time in nature, and it’d set off a future of solo nature traveling for me!

Estes Park, the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park!

Sunrise hike to Dream Lake... I was a bit slower than I expected and ended up catching still a beautiful sunrise enroute haha.

P.S. I learned from this that hiking at altitude is no joke!

Sunrise over Dream Lake, an absolutely beautiful experience

Sunrise over Sprague Lake. This time it was just a walk to the lake and I actually caught sunrise over it!

An absolutely stunning, idyllic, and peaceful sunrise, and is still one of my most memorable nature and travel moments, 6 years later as I write this.

I couldn’t stop taking pictures of this view!

Views from Trail Ridge Road, a beautiful drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Still very snowy with the road just opening in June time.

Chautauqua Trail of Boulder, CO. Famous for its “flatirons” (kind of those things you can see in middle of this picture)
